Randall Mance

Randall Mance is a Poet/Spoken Word artist born August 9th, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. He first began exhibiting an interest in creative writing early on in 6th grade where he would write short stories in class. However, it wasn't until his junior year of high school that he showed signs of writing poetry. He began to keep a journal where he would write about the things that influenced him, mostly being relationships and his perception of the world. After graduating high school in 2010, he moved to Urbana, IL and enrolled at Parkland College in pursuit of a degree in Psychology.

In 2011 he joined an RSO at the U of I Campus known as W.O.R.D (Writers Organizing Realistic Dialect) where he would begin to showcase his poetry. Forming a bond with a few members of the organization, they decided to start their own collective entitled "Paradigm Shift" in late December of 2012.

Now with the acquisition of W.O.R.D and Paradigm Shift in his life, Randall is seeing things with a larger perspective, more than ever before. He is focusing more on personal, social and global issues, not only with himself but others. The love of art and conceptualizing had been having more of an impact in his life than school, so in the fall of 2013 he dropped out. Randall is currently working on his debut poetry tape entitled “MANce” where he will shed light on his personal struggles and his ongoing  journey of becoming a man.
